We have chosen one of the previous years music videos that we like;

This was done by group P1-01. Audio Bullys-100 Million

We like this video because they have used various different shots for parts of the rap.
Camera work: In this video they have used various different shots; - close up
- long shot
- medium shot
Editing- There is a part in the video where the camera zooms in on the rappers head and then he comes up smaller again. To do this they used green screen and then istop motion and the look they have achieved is really good.
At the start of the video theres a cardboard house which goes in through a window and then comes to real life which also looks really good it also ends how it started.
Then when the rapper is sitting in a field the sky behind him is purple.
Also they write the words in a diary as they sing them which looks really good.
Another effect is they recorded the rapper rapping on their mobile and then played the video as part of the video. They use pictures which then come to real life again which is effective and different.

Setting- In this video they use lots of various different settings.
-Bedroom
-Cambridge station
-Skate park
-Places covered with graffiti
-Jesus Green
-Basketball courts
-Stairway
-Play park
-Garages
-Window

Genre Conventions- As this is a rap song the main rapper has his "crew" with him and he smokes. Wears burberry, which is seen as chav clothing.

Performance- The rapper in the video is very convincing as he new all the words and the lipsynching looks like hes singing it. He also moves his hands a lot which adds more.

Video Idea

After studying other videos we have come up with an idea involving television.
The plot to our video is a man sits down and starts watching t he TV. As he watches and flicks tyrough the channels he sees himself as the main protagonist in every program he watches.

Some of the ideas that we had for TV programs were:

James Bond
Old 50s films
Sports Programs
Jeremy Kyle
Nature Programs
Cooking
Loose Women
Kilroy
A Politics show
News Programs

We also thought it would be good to referance things in current events such as the foot and mouth crisis.
We are also going to mix these clips into a performance video of a rapper with possibly a backing band to capitalise on the fact that the backing music is very band based with guitar bass and drums.

Within the TV pograms we will attempt to parody them by either:

1) Having what actually goes on be ridiculous; For a chat show have total chaos going on in the background
2) Have a thing that runs along the bottom- like in newsround- saying stupid stuff.

Video ideas

We selected videos due to our appreciation of their content.
3 feet deep by DJ format features the two rappers parodying the popular arcade game Dancehall dominatrix only using rapping as opposed to dancing. Throughout the video instructions are given to the rappers to freestyle throughout. This makes them look like much more skillful rappers.

Lets get ready to rhumble by bad boy duet PJ and Duncan plays on their gangsta attitude and ghetto street knowledge. I liked the dancing.

We are being influenced by the purple pills.
